An anomalous Hall effect in altermagnetic ruthenium dioxide

چکیده
The anomalous Hall effect is a time-reversal symmetry-breaking magneto-electronic phenomenon originally discovered in ferromagnets. Recently, ruthenium dioxide (RuO2) with compensated antiparallel magnetic order has been predicted to generate an of comparable strength arises from altermagnetic phase RuO2 characteristic alternating spin polarization both real-space crystal structure and momentum-space band structure. Here we report conductivity exceeding 1,000 Ω−1 cm−1. We combine the vector magnetometry magneto-transport measurements epitaxial films different crystallographic orientations. show that dominates over ordinary contribution, contribution due weak field-induced magnetization. Our results could lead exploration topological Berry phases dissipationless quantum transport crystals abundant elements order. By combining orientations, can be measured collinear Ω–1 cm–1.

Anomalous Hall effect
We present a review of experimental and theoretical studies of the anomalous Hall effect (AHE), focusing on recent developments that have provided a more complete framework for understanding this subtle phenomenon and have, in many instances, replaced controversy by clarity. Synergy between experimental and theoretical work, both playing a crucial role, has been at the heart of these advances. ...
متن کاملAnomalous Hall effect in ferromagnetic disordered metals
The anomalous Hall effect in disordered band ferromagnets is considered in the framework of quantum transport theory. A microscopic model of electrons in a random potential of identical impurities including spin-orbit coupling is used. The Hall conductivity is calculated from the Kubo formula for both, the skew scattering and the side-jump mechanisms. The recently discussed Berry phase induced ...

We present a microscopic theory of the anomalous Hall effect (AHE) in metallic multiband ferromagnets, which accounts for all scattering-independent contributions, i.e., both the intrinsic and the so-called side jump. For a model of Gaussian disorder, the AHE is expressed solely in terms of the material's electronic band structure. Our theory handles systematically the interband-scattering cohe...
متن کاملAnomalous Hall Effect in non-commutative mechanics
The anomalous velocity term in the semiclassical model of a Bloch electron deviates the trajectory from the conventional one. When the Berry curvature (alias noncommutative parameter) is a monopole in momentum space, as found recently in some ferromagnetic crystals while observing the anomalous Hall effect, we get a transverse shift, similar to that in the optical Hall effect. cond-mat/0606472,...
